Market Season is Coming Soon!

Sanford Farmers' Market

It’s that time again! As spring approaches, farmers’ markets will start to open up in our area once again, including the Sanford Farmers’ Market here in Lee County! We are excited for another great year of food, fun, and fellowship in Downtown Sanford. We will be open on Saturdays starting April 22 through November 11.

We are happy to announce our pre-season market meeting is happening this month! If you are a farmer, rancher, fisherman or fisherwoman, beekeeper, food entrepreneur, or artisan looking for a venue to market your food products, consider joining our market this year! Our pre-season market meeting is on March 13th from 5:30-8 p.m. at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Lee County Center (2420 Tramway Road, Sanford) and we will discuss details for this upcoming market season. Vendor applications will be available following the meeting and open until April 1st.

We will also be offering an opportunity to have your scales calibrated. We have scheduled with NCDA&CS to inspect scales the day following the market meeting (March 14th). You can drop your scale off before the meeting and pick it up the following Wednesday.

If you are interested in learning more about the Sanford Farmers’ Market or becoming a market vendor this year, please contact N.C. Cooperative Extension at the Lee County Center office at 919-775-5624 and ask for Meredith Favre, our Local Foods Coordinator and Market Manager for the Sanford Farmers’ Market, for more information.
