Another Thanksgiving is behind us and as we think about what Thanksgiving means we start to realize what we have to be grateful for. It is the time of the year were we recognize and reflect on everything that has happened in the past year. We do this in order to give thanks and show our gratitude. The origin of our gratitude can range from being able to receive proper education to being able to have the chance for happiness. It is not always easy to be thankful. It is not always easy to remember not to get wrapped up in what you don’t have. Sometimes blessings are a part of everyday life and we start to take them for granted. Melody Beattie once said, “Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.” With this being said, it is always important to reflect and show gratitude. Gratitude can provide us with new perspectives on life and the way we choose to live it. Improving our lives for the better.
