Mission
The mission of the Lee County Area Forestry Association is to provide educational programs on a wide range of forestry-related topics and occasional field trips for the group.This organization is for all who are interested in forestry and conservation in Lee County and in surrounding counties, whether you own forest land or not.
We also see our meetings as an opportunity for fellowship and networking with those who have similar interests!Who Is Welcome at the Meeting:
- Anyone who is interested in learning more about forestry and land ownership
- Folks who own land
- Folks who own forests
- Folks who are interested in purchasing land
- Forestry professionals
Meetings
Our Association has been active for decades, and meets three times a year in the Fall, Winter and Spring. Meetings are open to the public and are held in the evening at the N.C. Cooperative Extension McSwain County Center/N.C. Cooperative Extension Lee County Center, 2420 Tramway Rd., Sanford, NC 27330.Persons who wish to join the Association pay minimal annual dues ($10.00, as of October 2025). Dinner will be served as well, but is a separate fee to be paid as cash or check (to be made out to Lee County Area Forestry Association) of the night of the meeting. There are door prizes (donations accepted!) each meeting!
