Get ready to buzz with excitement! The Lee County Beekeepers Association is hosting a honey tasting event to promote the Association and the Great Southeast Pollinator Census. This is your chance to taste over 20 different honeys, including the legendary purple honey, and vote for your favorite.
The event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2420 Tramway Road, Sanford, NC 27332. For a $5 fee, you can sample the various honeys and learn more about the Lee County Beekeepers Association and the art of beekeeping. Families and children are welcome to attend.
In addition to the tasting, attendees are encouraged to participate in the Great Southeast Pollinator Census by counting insects in the Pollinator Haven Garden while they're there. This is a great opportunity to learn about pollinators and contribute to an important community science project.
