The Great Southeast Pollinator Census is August 18th and 19th and North Carolina is participating! The Census is a community science project created by the University of Georgia. This project is designed for everyone to participate and make a difference for pollinator conservation.

This is free and open to the public!

Join the Great Southeastern Pollinator Census team to learn about the Census, how to participate in the Census, how to bring the Census to your community or organizations, and ask questions with the experts. If you want to help scientists understand what kind of insects are in your backyard, this is the project for you!

When: Thursday, August 10, 2023
Time: 1-3 p.m.
Where: Zoom (link to be sent out day before!)
Who: ANYONE in North Carolina! Community members, Extension Master Gardener Volunteers, schools, teachers, students, parents, homeschool groups, businesses, non-profits, government organizations, etc.
Speakers include: Dr. Danesha Seth-Carley, Dr. Hannah Levenson, and Dr. Matt Bertone
Topics include: Pollinator plants, current pollinator research projects and insect identification
