Collapse ▲N.C. Cooperative Extension has partnered with Collaboration is Prosperation and Lee County Libraries to offer a network of seed libraries across Lee County. The purpose of this service to offer seeds to Lee County residents for free for the purpose of home food production; and foster a sense of community by facilitating the sharing of knowledge and saved seeds. These seeds create and preserve Lee County-originated and regionally-relevant strains of vegetables and fruits for future generations.

Take What You Need, or Get What You Need
The seeds are free to everyone, though folks are encouraged to only take what they will use. Recommended: five packets per person per visit. You can also use the coin envelopes in the bottom locker to take only a few seeds per packet of your desired varieties.
For community organizations, schools and community gardens who need more than a few seeds for a large garden project, please contact the N.C. Cooperative Extension- Lee County Office directly (919-775-5624) to speak to the horticulture agent to learn more.
Share in Your Bounty
Gardeners are also encouraged to save their own seeds from their prized vegetables and share them through the Seed Library. You can drop your seed packets off at the Library desk or at the Extension Office (2420 Tramway Road, Sanford, NC 27332), and we will put them into circulation.
