A native of the east coast Carolina Geranium is a shorter plant that has small white blooms. It can be found in lawns and can be easily pulled out by hand due to its shallow root system. 2,4-D and Dicamba can be used to control this weed when it has emerged but if sporadically found pulling by hand is recommended. Carolina Geranium struggles to compete with healthy stands of turf. Proper fertilization through soil sampling is an effective way to prevent it from becoming established.
