Great things come in small packages. You’ve heard of a salad bar, but have you ever been to a Plug Bar? For our Ag Week Field Day, we are offering a unique way to shop for your garden.

A "plug" is a young plant grown in a specialized individual cell. While they might look small compared to a 1-gallon pot, they are actually the "secret weapon" of professional landscapers and restoration experts.

Why Choose Plugs?

• Superior Establishment: Because plugs are young and vigorous, they experience much less "transplant shock" than larger, root-bound potted plants. They adapt to your garden’s soil quickly and often outpace larger plants within the first two seasons.
• Deep Root Systems: Plugs are grown in deep, narrow containers that encourage the plant to send roots straight down. This makes them significantly more drought-tolerant once they hit the ground.
• Budget-Friendly: Plugs allow you to plant in "drifts" or larger groups (which pollinators love!) without breaking the bank. You get more "bloom for your buck."
• Easy to Plant: No need for a giant shovel—a simple garden trowel or a soil auger is all you need to get these into the ground.
