Thursday, March 14, 2002 Conference Call

Call to Order and Welcome by President Denise Brown
Introductions and roll call:

Committee reports:

Budget:
Lisa Hall gave the treasurer’s report. A copy of the treasurer’s report is attached. A motion was made to accept the report and passed.
Proposed budget:
Lisa Hall projects $750 from the Soybean Association, $300 from NCCE administration and approximately $20 earned from interest for a total of $1070 income. Expenditures are projected as $700 for the December Forum, possibly $300 for the June (?) meeting, $12 in bank charges and as much as $58 in miscellaneous expenses. The Soybean Association will be asked to pay their donation directly to Federation. A motion was made to accept the report and passed.

Constitution and By-law Committee:
Changes have been posted to the web site by Susan Condlin.

Awards and Recognition:
Federation will not undertake this program this year.

A motion was made and passed to add a meeting with Dr. Stephen Jones, vice chancellor for Extension and Engagement, to the agenda for discussion today. Denise Brown and David Goff will represent Federation in a meeting on April 2, 2002 to discuss how NCCE can assist Extension and Engagement. Dr. Ort is looking to Federation to take a more active role as a “membrane” between all the associations and administration. One step is for Federation to understand Dr. Jones vision and NCCE administration wants Federation to be involved in the Extension and Engagement process.

New Business:

Epsilon Sigma Phi requested $200 from Federation for partial funding to support the attendance of the PILD coordinator to the PILD Conference. A motion was made and passed that Federation not provide support for attendance at the PILD conference.
