Recent food safety scares have everyone thinking about food safety, including the US legislature.  If you grow and sell fruits or vegetables, you need to know how to ensure food safety on your farm.  

The Lee County Cooperative Extension Center will offer the course Food Safety: What Growers Need to Know on Monday, November 9, 12:00 – 2:00 pm.  Learn how food safety applies to your farm, get up-to-date legislative news, hear from third party auditors, and learn more about farm insurance.  A light meal sponsored by Farm Bureau Insurance will be served.  The training will be in the Lee County Farm Bureau Auditorium at the McSwain Extension Education Center.  

Food Safety: What Growers Need to Know will also be offered by the Richmond County Cooperative Extension Center on Monday, November 9, 5:00 – 7:00 pm.  The training will be held at the Derby Community Building (1647 Jones Church Road, Derby).
